A critical component of fighting discrimination is better understanding just how that discrimination manifests itself in our daily lives.
My name is Emily Schlichting, and I am a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am conducting a research on the experiences gay and lesbian individuals in medical settings. Specifically, the purpose of this research project is to investigate level of comfort surrounding disclosure of sexual orientation to a primary care physician for lesbian and gay patients.
Participation in this study involves completing an interview that we estimate will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. The interview will consist of open-ended questions that will address experiences with your primary care physician, level of comfort in interactions with your physician, as well as your experiences with other health professionals.
